Brsk welcomes BDUK
We had the pleasure of showcasing our award-winning network to members from government organisation Building Digital UK, (otherwise known as BDUK) who are helping to bring fast and reliable broadband nationally. BDUK is an executive agency sponsored by the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology.
BDUK representatives from Strategy, Regional Delivery, Data Analysis, Engagement and Compliance were given a tour of our brsk network in Greater Manchester, which recently passed 157,000 homes and celebrated its growth into neighbouring Cheshire. In addition to learning more about the brsk story, the team were taken through the selection process for how we select our build locations, the processes and lessons learnt from building a new network at scale, finished off with a network tour out in the field. As one of the fastest growing UK full fibre networks, we intend to become a household name in greater Manchester, we're well on our way to cover almost half a million homes in the area with full fibre connectivity!
Having passed 350,000 homes nationally, across Greater Manchester, West Yorkshire, the West Midlands and Lancashire, we are proud to be a key enabler in driving the UK Government gigabit coverage targets, ensuring that underserved areas have access to a better quality of broadband years ahead of schedule.
Brsk Greater Manchester Regional Head, Gareth Cornelius, said, "It was great to welcome the team from BDUK to learn more about our journey, the challenges we face when building full fibre networks at scale and we hope this visit can lead to us working closer with BDUK in the future."
