Brsk announces first homes live in Stockport with customers excited to join the BetterNet
We're delighted to share that our first homes in the Portwood, Stockport area are now ‘live’ and our first customers are being connected to our new full fibre broadband network.
Commenting on brsk’s milestone, John Steward, Digital Infrastructure Lead at Greater Manchester Combined Authority said:
“We welcome this announcement from Brsk and are happy to see significant investment in the Greater Manchester region, which will boost our digital economy. Throughout the pandemic our businesses and citizens relied on communications services more than ever, so it’s great to see communities in South Manchester being supported with next generation connectivity. Along with our work to fix the digital divide, we are ensuring Greater Manchester becomes a world leading digital-city region that puts residents at the heart of our plans.”
Our first customer in Portwood had their service installed and activated on the 31st May 2022. Speaking about his experience of being connected to the BetterNet, Chris Miles said:
“My previous provider wasnt 100% accurate about the speed I could receive, and I have waited over 9 years for an FTTP solution. Signing up with brsk was easy and after a great installation I immediately downloaded a game for my son in less than 5 minutes! As a family we use the internet for all types of entertainment and work, therefore reliable and superfast connection is a game changer.
Until now, Chris was getting an average broadband speed of 42 Mbps in his home, but with our network, hes getting speeds up to 14x faster* and a more reliable service.
